Low-GWP HFO Technology
PANELO uses closed-cell PUR insulation manufactured with modern HFO blowing-agent technology.
This technology has zero ozone depletion potential and very low global warming potential while enabling high thermal performance with relatively thin insulation layers.

Responsible Timber
Timber and engineered wood products form an important part of the PANELO construction system.
The LVL used in PANELO panels is sourced from European manufacturers using certified chain-of-custody systems such as FSC® and PEFC, depending on the product and supplier.

Low-Emission Materials
Selected materials used for PANELO interior surfaces have an M1 emission classification.
M1 is a Finnish classification for low-emission building materials intended for indoor environments.

Reduced Packaging
PANELO panels can be transported without full plastic wrapping, helping reduce unnecessary packaging waste.
Protective packaging can be provided when required by the project or transport conditions.

We believe that reducing the environmental impact of construction requires a combination of renewable materials, energy-efficient buildings and efficient manufacturing processes.
PANELO combines a structural timber frame with high-performance closed-cell PUR insulation in a factory-made building element. The high thermal performance of the insulation allows excellent U-values to be achieved with relatively thin wall and roof structures.
Good insulation and airtight construction can reduce the energy required to heat and cool a building throughout its lifetime. At the same time, factory production helps optimise material use, reduce construction waste and minimise the amount of work required on site.
PANELO uses modern HFO blowing-agent technology in its PUR insulation, providing high insulation performance while reducing the global warming impact of the blowing agent compared with older generations of foam technology.

END OF LIFE
Recycling & Material Recovery
End-of-life options depend on the materials, local regulations and the recycling and energy-recovery infrastructure available in each market.
Reuse and a Second Life
The PANELO building system can be designed with future disassembly and panel reuse in mind. Accessible mechanical connections and carefully designed joints allow elements to be dismantled and, where their condition permits, reused in another building.
The aim is to retain as much of the existing value as possible: first, keep the whole building in use or adapt it to a new purpose; then reuse complete panels and, where feasible, repurpose panel sections into smaller building elements.
At the end of a panel’s service life, the feasibility of mechanically separating its components can be assessed. The reuse of recovered timber and board components depends on their condition and intended application. Clean PUR insulation production residues are already used to manufacture new products. For example, shredded foam is combined with a binder to produce boards used for window installation components, thermal break elements, and moisture-resistant furniture and interior fit-out components.
Building reuse → panel reuse → repurposing panel sections → material recycling.
Energy Recovery
Where suitable waste-to-energy infrastructure is available, combustible components of PANELO panels may be used for energy recovery at the end of their service life.
End-of-life treatment is subject to local waste-management regulations and available infrastructure.
